I'm Black, I'm Christian, I'm Methodist

SUNDAY | OCTOBER 6, 2024

Join Us for a Four-Week Class on I'm Black, I'm Christian, I'm Methodist Starting October 6th

Beginning on October 6th, from 10:10-11:00 AM in the Youth Room, we invite you to join us for a four-week exploration of I'm Black, I'm Christian, I'm Methodist. This powerful book features ten personal narratives that reveal the shared and distinct struggles of being Black in the Church, facing both historic and modern racism.

In these candid reflections, Black women and men—leaders within the Church—share how their faith has shaped their journey through hardship, disappointment, and the ongoing fight against White supremacy and racism. This class offers a deep dive into the intersections of being Black, Christian, and Methodist, and how these experiences inform the urgent call to say, without hesitation, “Black Lives Matter.”

Come learn and reflect with us as we explore how grace, purpose, and faith intersect with the realities of systemic injustice. Whether you are familiar with these conversations or seeking to better understand the Black Christian experience, this class is open to all who are willing to listen, learn, and grow.
