We are currently offering in-person service by appointment only on Friday mornings between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Limited phone appointments are available for those unable to come to Foundry because of incarceration, in-patient treatment, a newborn at home, mobility or medical issues, disability, or advanced age. During the current COVID spike, we are temporarily increasing the number of phone appointments. About ID Ministry

At Foundry United Methodist Church, we believe all persons are created in God’s image, the Imago Dei. The ID Ministry at Foundry, run by volunteers, seeks to restore to neighbors in need the documents necessary to obtain jobs, housing, education, or services in the community.

We assist unhoused and low-income residents of Washington, D.C. who need a birth certificate, a D.C. identification card, and/or a replacement Social Security card. We don’t issue those documents ourselves — instead, we provide expertise and financial support toward getting those documents from the government agencies that do.
