The Christian wedding ceremony at Foundry United Methodist Church is rooted in the belief that
marriage is a gift from God for all people. As the church, we strive to equip couples to have
lifelong, loving, covenantal, and flourishing marriages. To this end, our pastors take a great deal
of care in preparing each couple who is to be married at Foundry. This includes the requirement for
all couples who are to be married at Foundry to attend our pre-marital counseling program, Pre-Cana.
We proclaim that interfaith and LGBTQIA+ weddings are consistent with the United Methodist understanding of
marriage.
Our Hospitality Staff is pleased to help you coordinate the details of your wedding. Email our Hospitality Staff at events@foundryumc.org.
All couples married at Foundry United Methodist Church are required to complete pre-marital
counseling, or Pre-Cana. Pre-Cana is open to all couples, regardless of membership status, gender or
faith affiliation
Pre-Cana is currently a virtual day-long program that provides couples an opportunity to learn more
about marriage and each other. The retreats are held on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. ET,
and cover topics such as counseling, personality, finance, and intimacy.
The cost of the class is $250 (or your Foundry wedding deposit) and should be paid at least one week
prior to the retreat. Refunds are decided on a case by case basis.
