We are currently offering in-person service by appointment on Wednesday mornings between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Limited phone appointments are available for those unable to come to Foundry because of incarceration, in-patient treatment, a newborn at home, mobility or medical issues, disability, or advanced age. Click the link below to make an in-person appointment or email idhelp@foundryumc.org to request a phone appointment.
At Foundry United Methodist Church, we believe all persons are created in God’s image, the Imago
Dei. The ID Ministry at Foundry, run by volunteers, seeks to restore to neighbors in need the
documents necessary to obtain jobs, housing, education, or services in the community.
We assist unhoused and low-income residents of Washington, D.C. who need a birth certificate, a D.C.
identification card, and/or a replacement Social Security card. We don’t issue those documents
ourselves — instead, we provide expertise and financial support toward getting those documents from
the government agencies that do. Unfortunately, we cannot assist with immigration matters.
Would you like to help your neighbors become visible members of the community, exercise their rights, and benefit from housing and employment? Join our ID Ministry Volunteer Team! Contact idministry@foundryumc.org to get started.
