We work towards racial justice and equity: work to dismantle white supremacy, rectify systemic racial inequities and injustices, and commit to intersectional approaches in our anti-racist work. We are a beloved, diverse and inclusive community where all of God's children can bring their full selves.
The Religion and Racial Justice Committee grew out of Foundry's Journey to Racial Justice which conducted a survey, held workshops and focus groups, and created a strategy to reflect this Foundry core value. The committee continues to work with clergy, church leaders, and congregants to help them gain knowledge about this value and embed it in the DNA of Foundry--from worship and spirituality, to business operations, the building, education, and music.
A survey to identify Foundry’s challenges and strengths in the areas of racial justice and equity
Workshops and gatherings to enhance awareness and offer opportunities for capacity building among the staff, clergy, and the congregation
Focus groups with select staff and members
The creation of 3-year racial equity and justice plan
With this plan, we believe that Foundry will be well equipped to embark on a fruitful Journey to Racial Justice.
