I am about to do a new thing;
now it springs forth; do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
– Isaiah 43:19
Over the past several years, the rhythms of our lives have shifted in a variety of ways. Multiple pandemics disrupted everything, and the continued ripples of that disruption show up in our personal habits and in communal patterns of work and social life. But God is always doing a new thing—making a way through difficult stretches of the journey and sending water to flow into parched places. At this crucible moment in history when so much has changed and is changing, God’s presence is powerfully at work among us at Foundry, inspiring new energy, new vision, new life.
Like tributaries once diverged due to a storm, streams of Foundry people, ideas, and commitment are finding their way back to reunite and flow together into a shared future. Through a dynamic strategic visioning process and fresh ideas and initiatives flowing through all our ministries, God is renewing us!
Through this series we will listen deeply for what Spirit is saying, seeking guidance and courage for the way ahead. Our worship will be punctuated with music that intentionally includes percussion and rhythm instruments–a reminder that the rhythms of our life together are different, but that, by God’s grace, we will move forward to the beat of God’s heart, the beat of love, compassion, and justice!
