We invite you to join us on Sunday, January 14 at both our worship services as we kick off the new series A Dream Deferred. Our guest preacher will be Dr. Donyelle McCray, Associate Professor of Homiletics from Yale Divinity School.
A Dream Deferred:
Martin Luther King, Jr. once wrote, “A voice out of Bethlehem two thousand years ago said that all [people] are created equal…that right would triumph.” The life and teachings of Jesus inspired King’s vision for what “the American Dream” can be. In this series, passages from the Gospel of Mark and the words of MLK will inspire us to consider the call of Jesus in our own lives—and particularly our call to interlocking justice—during this challenging time in history. Join us and be reminded that, as Dr. King said, “standing on the high ground of nonviolence, love, and soul force, we can turn this nation upside down and right side up.”
