Ed is currently completing his Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary and is a
pastoral intern at Foundry for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Ed is a native Washingtonian, a graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda. Ed graduated
from Penn State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for the federal
government for over thirty years. Ed also earned an MBA from Virginia Tech while working for the
government and served as a project and program manager for initiatives in the Defense, Commerce,
and Interior departments. Ed recently retired from the Department of the Interior after
twenty-one years serving in Information Technology.
Before beginning seminary at Wesley, Ed spent many years leading high school youth ministry,
volunteering at Foundry’s ID Ministry, and teaching adult classes and Bible studies. In
preparation for retirement, Ed sensed a call to full-time ministry work as a second career and
began attending seminary part-time at night at Wesley Theological Seminary in 2020.
Ed is passionate about Bible study, small group ministries, pastoral care, social justice, and
contemplative spirituality, and is excited to serve in those areas at Foundry. Additionally, Ed
is excited to facilitate the new members’ classes, helping build beloved community. Ed is also
an active participant in 12 Step Addiction Recovery and a grateful member of that
community.
Ed and his husband, Todd, live in Reston, VA, and have two wonderful adult children, Matt and
Ellie.
